About Liz

Birds and the natural world were part of my childhood: birds outside our window, gardens, and lectures at our local opera house. That curiosity stayed with me.

Music and linguistics later gave me new ways to listen for sound, pattern, and meaning. My work in adult education taught me how to make research accessible.

Bird Translations grows from those interests and from the birds I keep noticing close to home. I explore what research says about their calls, songs, and behavior, while making room for what is still being learned.

I hope the talks offer an enjoyable few minutes with a bird, and perhaps something new to notice next time you hear one.
